In light of the gradual loss of cultural heritage and historic buildings due to rapid urbanisation, the project "A Market Never Sleeps" aims to raise public awareness of heritage conservation by capturing the disappearing cultural practices of day and night operations at Yau Ma Tei Fruit Market in Hong Kong and to evoke community stories and collective memories.
 
During the day, the hospitable fruit sellers share their daily lives with neighbouring customers, evoking stories of neighbourhood and community. In the off-peak hours, the vendors and neighbours would meet to play mahjong and eat fruit together, where the fruitiness filled the air.
