Reimagining the Chinese Seal in the Spring–Autumn Period

Project type

Art, Spatial Design, Illustration

Date

2025

Reimagining the Chinese Seal in the Spring–Autumn Period explores the seal's early role as a symbol of power, identity, and communication. Seals emerged in the period between 770 and 476 BCE and were used for sealing letters, tools, rituals, and communication methods such as the delivery of sealed messages by pigeon.

The seal is reimagined as an immersive space, evoking its role in power and identity in the Chu State of Ancient China’s Spring–Autumn period. A cross-disciplinary exploration of cultural heritage through design, space, and storytelling.
